Virtualbox Virtual Machine with Eclipse and Android SDK 1.5 r2 Preinstalled

Installing the SDK for google’s Android platform can be a rather cumbersome process. To save you some time, I have created a Virtualbox Virtual Machine with Eclipse and Android SDK 1.5 r2 preinstalled.

Download the image here: ubuntu-9.04-Android-SDK-1.5r2.7z (1.2GB) Unzip using 7zip

username/password: ubuntu/reverse
root password: toor

When first booting the image, do yourself the favor of updating the system by running

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

To run Eclipse, simply click the icon on the desktop. If you are not fond of double clicking, eclipse is located in the folder

/home/ubuntu/eclipse

The image contains a clean installation of Ubuntu 9.04. I borrowed an already existing image from Virtualbox Images and before uploading the file, I installed the following applications

vim
Virtualbox guest additions
Sun java 6
Eclipse Classic 3.5.0
Android SDK 1.5 r2
